Who is/are behind SiliconBits?

Siliconbits is the work of only one person. Guess Who? Yeah. My name is at the end of this page. I am actually a University of Mauritius Student. Not computer but Social Studies Yr 2. The site has been launched on the 19th of July 2000 and it is the first TRUE Information Technology site in Mauritius. No one backs it (except the Sponsor).


I started running this site overnight and made a pledge to continue doing it as far as i can. The site is already in its 3rd inception. No other updates are to come in a forseable future. However, who knows? Moreover, regular daily updates and additional goodies and news make this site a true treasure trove for everyone ;). Anyone interested to help either financially or by writing is welcomed.

Why Siliconbits?
The aims of this site is pretty simple. 
  1. Provide Mauritians with a clear view of the IT situation in Mauritius.
  2. Give access to independently reviewed PC components
  3. Help Mauritian in their buying decisions
  4. Foster a TRUE IT culture in Mauritius
  5. Provide them with a host of free services (mail, chat, forum, fax, phone)
  6. Promote the idea of a code de conduite for buyers and sellers as well.
  7. Provide a platform for exchanging ideas in the field of IT
  8. Provide resellers with a host of free and chargeable services.
  9. Provide a regularly updated pricelist to anyone desiring it.
10. LAST - Provide me with a regular influx of Pocket money.

I choose the name since it was free :)). Silicon and Bits are the most important things in the IT world. Hardware and Software in their quintessence....
